Elmwood Kids.
Elmwood Kids.
Raising up the next generation in the way of Jesus.
Nursery.
Birth thru 2 years old
Each Sunday, we provide a nursery for our kiddos ages birth through two years old. The nursery is a place where our youngest can be loved and cared for while their parents or caretakers are in the worship gathering.
When there is a fifth Sunday in the month, we have what we call a family gathering β all our children stay with us in the sanctuary the whole time! This might mean more noise and commotion, but we welcome these as a sign of life in our church family.
SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
Background checks
Each of our NextGen ministry team members has undergone an extensive background check process, and we have policies in place to ensure the safety of the youngest members of our community.
Check-in station
Near the entrance to the south wing is a check-in station. We ask that parents check in each child who will be in the nursery or in Children's Sermon Time.
Children's Sermon Time.
3 years old thru 2nd grade
During the sermon portion of the gathering, kids ages 3 through 2nd grade are dismissed for a fun and relational time of learning about Jesus. They return at the end of the sermon to be with their parents or caretakers for communion.
When there is a fifth Sunday in the month, we have what we call a family gathering β all our children stay with us in the sanctuary the whole time! During our family gatherings, we have a short children's message and a time to get our wiggles out ππΌπΊπ½
ALSO, there are kid activity bags located on the back wall of the sanctuary. These bags are loaded with activities if you need help keeping your child occupied.
NextGen Sermon Debrief.
3rd grade and up.
On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, kids 3rd grade and up come together after the worship gathering for 15 to 30 minutes to talk through the big ideas that we heard during the sermon. Each week, we provide a NextGen Sermon Debrief handout with a fill-in-the-blank sermon outline so they can more easily follow along, and during the debrief we create space for our students to ask questions and process the message together; a skill they will use for their whole lives!
On the βoffβ weeks, we head to the Fellowship Hall after the gathering to play Kickball! Bring your game face; it typically ends up as a parents vs. kids game π₯
