The good news about Jesus.
The good news about Jesus.
One thing we all have in common is that we see and experience disharmony in the world around us. We can all identify a host of things we know are not the way they should be — socially, politically, racially, economically, geopolitically. The disharmony we feel is not just out there in the world, but it’s woven into our own life experiences.
The Bible says the disharmony we experience is rooted in the fact that we are out of step with our Creator. We are out of harmony with God, and as a result, everything else is out of alignment. The good news—often times just called “the gospel”—is the announcement that God is bringing harmony out of disharmony. He is in the process of restoring his creation to it’s original design!
Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, God has made a way for our relationship with him to be made right. And having made our spiritually dead hearts alive, he commissions and sends each of us to live as agents of harmony in the world.
If you do not yet follow Jesus, you can experience his grace and forgiveness today!
The good news about Jesus is at the center of every worship gathering and is what animates the life of our church.
What next?
When we read the Bible and come across people deciding to follow Jesus, the next step is always baptism. What is that and what does it mean?
Simply put, the word baptize means “to immerse” or “to get wet.” Baptism is a public declaration of a person’s personal faith in Jesus. It is a kind of reenactment—a person is lowered into the water, symbolizing they have died with Christ, and they are lifted out of the water, symbolizing they have been raised to new life with him. When a person is baptized, they are living in obedience to Jesus’ teaching (Matthew 28:18-20) and publicly announcing that they belong to Jesus and to the community of the Church.
If you are a follower of Jesus but have never been baptized, we would love to talk with you about taking the next step!
