1 Samuel 17 shows that wilderness seasons are never wasted. God uses hardship to form courage, faith, and trust, preparing us for faithful obedience. David’s victory over Goliath ultimately points to Jesus, the true champion who fights for us and conquers our greatest enemy.

Numbers 21 shows how the wilderness exposes our struggle to trust God’s daily provision while also revealing his mercy. God uses testing for our good, invites us to depend on him in prayer, and points us to Jesus, lifted up on the cross as our rescue from sin and death.

Exodus 34 reveals God as compassionate, gracious, just, and abounding in loyal covenant love. Though his people are repeatedly unfaithful, God remains faithful. The cross shows the depth of that faithfulness and gives hope to all who trust in Christ.
